Nick Versteeg nominated for his
fourth James Beard Award
March 24, 2008, New York Producer/Director Nick Versteeg
was nominated for his fourth James Beard Award, this time for his documentary
Bocuse dOr 2007. The documentary was nominated
in the category "Broadcast Media Awards" for Best
Television Food Special.
Past nominations and awards: On the Road to Bocuse d'Or (winner), Master Chef (nomination), The World Pastry Cup (winner), and Bocuse d'Or 2007 (nomination)
Deemed "the Oscars of the Food World" by Time magazine, the James
Beard Foundation Awards are the country's most coveted honor for chefs, and food and beverage professionals; broadcast media, journalists, and authors working on food topics; and restaurant architects and designers.

Two Gemini Nominations for "The Next
Great Chef"
October, 2007 - Edi Osghian, Nick Versteeg and Giuliana Bertuzzi
were nominated again as producers of The Next Great Chef, a
successful series that aired for eleven weeks on Global Television
earlier this year.
We are also delighted that our set designer James Hazel was
nominated in the category Production Design or Art Direction.
The Gemini Awards have been annually recognizing and celebrating
excellence in Canadian English-language television since 1986.
The annual gala was held Tuesday, Oct. 16th, 2007, in Toronto.

The Next Great Chef wins four Leo Awards
June 2, 2007 - It was a great evening for Producers Edi Osghian,
Giuliana Bertuzzi and Nick Versteeg, nominated for four LEO
awards and winning them ALL for their television series The
Next Great Chef in the category Best Information or Lifestyle
series. Edi Osghian won a Leo for Best Director, Todd Serotiuk
and Guy Robinson for Best Screen Writing, Ian Kerr won his second
Leo for Best Cinematography and Edi, Nick, and Guiliana won
the Leo Award for Best Producers of the show.
The ninth annual LEO AWARDS took place on June 1st and 2nd,
2007 at the Westin Bayshore Vancouver. The LEO AWARDS honour
the best and brightest film and television talent and programs
in British Columbia.

THE NEXT GREAT CHEF Wins Leo Awards
Summer 2006 - Nominated for three
Leo Awards (these honour the best and brightest film
and television talent and programs in British Columbia), our
television series, "The Next Great Chef" received
the Leo Award for Best Cinematography. Congratulations to
our Director of Photography Ian Kerr for our show's award-winning
good looks.
The Next Great Chef also took a Golden Sheaf Award
for best Lifestyle Program at the respected Yorkton
Short Film & Video Festival, the longest running
North American festival of its kind (est. 1947).

Nick Versteeg receives the Sandy
Sanderson Media Person of the
Year Award
November 3, 2003 - It was all smiles for Nick Versteeg, who
was recognized by the BCRFA (British Columbia Restaurant and
Foodservice Association) at their 25th Annual Gala Awards.
The event took place at the Sheraton
Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel and
was attended by approximately 800
people from the food and wine industry.
Nominees were selected from around
British Columbia, meeting the criteria
of success, community involvement,
educational development and enhancement
of the food industry in general.
BCTV newscaster Jill Krop was the
MC for the evening and attracted
many laughs with her great sense
of humor.
Among the recipients of the awards
was Bruno Marti (La Belle Auberge
in Ladner) who received the "Best
Restaurateur of the Year" award
while Rob Feenie received his award
for "Best New Restaurant".
John Furlong and Jack Poole received
an award for their contribution
bringing the 2010 Winter Olympics
to BC.

Nick Versteeg receives second
James Beard Award
May 5, 2003 - We are extremely happy to announce that Producer
Nick Versteeg has won another James Beard Award in New York
for the documentary "The World Pastry Cup"
(2002), which Nick directed and produced for the Food Network
in Canada and the USA.
The James Beard Awards ceremony,
the Oscars of the food and beverage
industry, was held in New York at
the Marriott Marquis Hotel on Monday,
May 5, 2003. The gala event was
attended by approximately 1600 of
the top industry leaders, including
Jacques Pepin, Jacques Torres, and
Daniel Boulud.

Nick Versteeg Wins Prestigious
James Beard Award in New York
April 30, 2001 - We are extremely proud to announce that
producer/ director Nick Versteeg of DV Cuisine (a division
of DV Media Inc. Vancouver) received the prestigious James
Beard Award at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on April
30, 2001 for his production On the Road to the Bocuse d'Or.
More than 1600 people of the gastronomic
world, including chefs, restaurant
owners and stars in the culinary
world, attended the big gala event.
Actor-director Henry Winkler (best
known as "The Fonz") and
actor John Ritter were the Masters
of Ceremonies. The James Beard Award
is regarded an Oscar in the culinary
world. On the Road to the Bocuse
dOr is part one of a two-part
documentary produced for the US
and Canadian Food Networks.
